There are lots of muzzle training resources out there. I would recommend looking at the Muzzle Up Project. I’ve seen your ask answered by other dog blogs today so I’m just going to second what most of them said: Make muzzle training a fun experience.
As far ass him getting it off, that shouldn’t be an issue with a properly fitted muzzle. You can find resources online (try YouTube) to show how to properly fit a muzzle.
