I love your posts and I know that the answers to asks are opinions you’re entitled to, but positive only training has its drawbacks. I used to be someone who was only ever positive only, but use balance training now and both myself and my dog are better off for it! It can be harmful in some cases to suggest a positive only training method. The dog won’t stop if you simply ignore it (like with the nipping), and especially not if you praise it with food merely moments after. Just my two cents.

Hmm, i don’t think I said to praise the dog after ignoring it. I said to praise the dog for staying calm while people are running. I don’t only preach positive reinforcement, ignoring a dog is a form of negative punishment. It is very important to provide bilateral feedback to dogs, but it is impossible for me to outline everything an anonymous person should do in 1 ask. Thanks!
