This handsome boy is Gearhead, a 5-or-so year old pit mix available for rescue at Oakland Pet Adoption Center in Auburn Hills, MI. I’ve been fond of him ever since his arrival to the shelter in July and I’m surprised no one has picked him up yet! Gearhead is a happy go lucky guy who wants to make friends with every human he sees. He’s a real lover boy who’s always up for pets and snuggles. He’ll even get on your lap if you sit on the floor. He’s friendly with other dogs and, in my experience, pretty much indifferent to cats. Gearhead has a medium-high energy level and loves his toys (he relieves stress by chewing, especially tennis balls!), but off-lead exercise must be kept to fifteen minutes a day for the next several months since he just finished his heartworm treatment. Overall he’s a goofy, affectionate pup who is a favorite of several shelter volunteers, myself included.
