Hey anon!
I think it depends how often you want to bathe your dog, as well as what you guys are doing. Personally, I bathe my dog every time she rolls in poo and pretty much no other time. But she doesn’t smell too too “doggie” so I think I’m just lucky.
There are sprays you can get that can help make your dog smell nice between baths. Also your vet or groomer might be able to recommend shampoos or conditioners that work with your dog’s skin condition. A rinse off with baking soda, oatmeal, or something similar might help too!
Remember not to spray perfume or body spray for humans on your dog, because they have sensitive skin and noses (but I’m sure you aren’t; you sound very responsible!).
