How necessary are booties in the winter? I’ve lived in the snow for years but I’ve never had a dog during winter and I’m unsure what to do. I see plenty of dogs with and without them here.

Wondering your opinion on people in classified ads requiring a "rehoming fee" for animals they can no longer take care of. Seems silly to me but maybe there’s legit reasons I don’t know about?
