going on that last ask about working vs show lines, is it worth getting a working line dog if you want to get into dog sports, like tracking, field work, nose work, agility etc. but not actually "work" the dog as part of every day life?

I think this will vary based on the lineage, honestly. Some working dogs are way, way too intense to not work every single day (I’m thinking Czech GSD for example). I think your best bet would be to straight-up ask…
